Dr Mehmet Oztel

Dr Oztel is an Australian trained contemporary Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He has completed 17 years of study and training in the field of Medicine, Dentistry and Surgery with expertise in the surgical management of teeth, jaws and the face.
Dr Oztel grew up in Melbourne before moving to Queensland, where he completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at Bond University in 2010 and Bachelor of Dentistry at James Cook University in 2016, receiving the Medal of Excellence for Academic Achievement. While completing his studies, he worked in various surgical specialties gaining extensive knowledge and experience in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Ear Nose and Throat Surgery and Neurosurgery.
Dr Oztel was accepted into the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Training Program in Queensland, which is endorsed by the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. During his specialty training Dr Oztel was trained and mentored by leading Australian Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons at various adult and paediatric hospitals in Queensland. After completing the specialty training program, Dr Oztel obtained his Fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is registered to practice with both the Medical and Dental Boards of Australia.
After completing his surgical training in Australia, Dr Oztel went on to obtain advanced training through a fellowship program at the prestigious St Georges University Hospital in London, United Kingdom. During his advanced training, Dr Oztel gained invaluable training and mentorship from recognised international Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons with a focus on orthognathic surgery, facial deformity and trauma surgery.
Dr Oztel is an internationally published author in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery on the topics of facial trauma, dental implants and temporomandibular joint. He is committed to continually advancing his knowledge and training through ongoing local and international courses and conferences.
Dr Oztel currently has public appointments at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and the Surgical, Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS) located in Brisbane, Queensland.
Dr Oztel prides himself on providing high quality treatment to his patients, always adopting an empathetic and patient centred approach. Outside of his career, Dr Oztel enjoys travelling and spending time with his family and friends.
